Three Things You Need to Know About Online Email Marketing and Your Internet Business

Online email marketing is not hard to understand but it can get pretty dicey in determining if it is the right fit for your online business. In my opinion no matter what the circumstances online email marketing is a must for any internet business but still there are factors to consider.

1. Your target audience
Before you spend time, currency and effort into email marketing, you have to figure out how often your target audience will be online. An email marketing campaign is not worthwhile if people are not even online to check out your information. Find out if a market exists for your product or service. You can open your browser, type in any keyword search terms you wish and hit enter. Is there an audience? Next, use a keyword research tool to check out how often (per month) people are searching for information utilizing a general keyword and all the variations. This is powerful stuff. Knowing what and how your audience is searching for information can greatly help you determine whether you should start an email marketing campaign.

2. You’re Selling What?
Since we live in an advertising world that is 24/7, it is easy to get caught up in the hype. This goes for many email marketers who choose a product because it promises a big affiliate commission but they never have a clear understanding of what they are selling. This translates into not being able to explain in your emails why people need your product or service. It’s also important to remember sending people a sales letter in the disguise of an email will usually not work. Promote by providing quality information that people can utilize. Put together a small report consisting of five articles you write and give it away free to your email list. Integrate the product links into your report but use sparingly. Avoid trying to hard sell your readers. Let the report stand on its own merit while enticing people to find out more. Leave the sales pitch to the product sales page.

3. The Dreaded S-word
It is not hard to get accused of spamming these days. In the early years of email marketing you could send out unsolicited email as long as you didn’t overdo it. Guess what? Some people overdid it.

According to Anti-Spam Spam-Unit, “some researchers estimate that just under 100 billion spam messages are sent worldwide every twenty-four hours as of June 2007″. You cannot blame people for not wanting to open an email box full of spam but it’s gotten to the point that a straight forward email can now come under the heading of spam if the recipient wishes to complain. I have seen customers sign up to an email list then forget about it. When an email arrived promoting a product, they quickly yelled spam and wanted to know how the marketer had gotten their email address.

Even if people do remember signing up to your list, they have gotten so use to deleting emails without reading that getting them to open it is a science all to itself. This is why you want to give real thought to your subject line. Stay away from extravagant promises that will only trigger the spam filters. Keep in mind that certain topics (like money) in your subject line can also trigger the spam filters. Ask a question or create a top five list on the problems and or solutions to your topic. Think of your subject line as a strong push that gets your list to open your email so they can get more useful information

If you are having any doubts about incorporating it into your online marketing system just focus on your target audience by doing some keyword research, provide useful information that helps you to state the benefits of your product or service clearly and craft an email (particularly the subject line) that won’t raise a red flag with the spam filters. Email marketing is a powerful tool. Do not let any obstacles stand in your way to using it effectively.

Aviation Security The British American Security Expert Perspective

The introduction of a new aviation security human x-ray machine installed at Manchester England International airport caused a huge surge in the number of passengers voicing concerns about big brother intrusion.

aviation security consultants are stating, it appears many passengers resent the fact that aviation and transportation security has been taken a step too far. The new xray security machine scans passenger’s right down to their birthday suit.

Many aviation security passengers are fearful that aviation and transportation security may be taking aviation and security too far.

These new security in aviation strategies have attracted the attention of the media and the BBC in particular.

After the national media reported the negative aspects of self conscious aviation passengers feeling uncomfortable at the thought of any aviation security officer being able to view them in all their naked glory, the BBC contacted me to provide a live radio discussion about aviation security.

At 2-15pm on October 14th 2009 I provided a live online radio discussion for the BBC WM midlands radio station. The thrust of the discussion focussed on the increase in security in aviation, airports security and xray security.

BBC viewers and listeners voiced concerns that aviation security international were losing sight of the fact, that fee paying aviation passengers feel that security is impacting on their air travel time. Many also feel that security in aviation should be relaxed given the reduction in airports security related problems.

As the British American Security Expert, my first task was to try and shake the listeners out of this terrible security affliction that aviation security consultants call ‘Condition White’. This condition means that people go about their lives in blissful ignorance of any security related problems materialising around them.

Most security experts know that complacency is one of the gravest issues relating to Condition White.

From a counter terrorism perspective security complacency gets people killed. If this sounds like I’m being paranoid, then you are absolutely right. The only difference is, my paranoia is professional paranoia. I have been trained by some of the finest security and aviation security experts in the world.

In my capacity as the British American Security Expert, I have been quoted on record stating that terrorist organisations spend years looking to exploit the weakest links in aviation security.

The American Airlines flights 11 & 77, and United Airlines flights 93 & 175 of September 11th can provide no clearer indication of the lengths professional terrorist will go to, to achieve mission success.

It’s no great secret that aviation and security, took a huge global financial knock post Sept’ 11th. However most aviation security consultants agree that aviation and transportation security is now at the best level it has ever been in most modern western countries.

Generally aviation security international has improved and one of the best improvements has been in aviation security officer training.

Globally aviation security has received substantial investment to improve all aspects of security in aviation and airports security.

The latest addition of state of the art security products and services like the new xray security machines at Manchester airport, should be viewed as another positive step forward by the aviation and transportation security industry to protect their fee paying passengers.

Many of these new increased security measures consist of overt security products and services. However many security in aviation products and services are covert.

By definition these means their presence is only known to a security cleared aviation security officer. One of the most sensationally reported security service aspects of the post September 11th terrorist atrocities, was the incorporation of armed sky marshals.

Sensationalised by the media, and reinforced by Hollywood the presence of armed sky marshals aboard civilian passenger aircraft attracted much global attention.

In reality the presence of armed law enforcement officers was nothing new for many civilian airlines. For a very long time just about every Israeli aircraft carried armed sky marshals, and still do. Aviation security in Israel has always been taken very seriously.

The Israeli’s have been very, very successful at providing professional security countermeasures for their aviation and security authority.

If you think we are over the worst of the global war on terror, then think again, because all the aviation security consultants I know agree that we are only in the eye of the storm, and that tough times require tough counter security measures.

In my role as the British American Security Expert I am frequently asked if aviation and transportation security has peaked. Many passengers long for a return to 1 hour check in times and less intrusive airports security and xray security. In truth I believe we are in for the long haul regarding security in aviation.

It is wise to understand that aviation security international and every individual aviation security officer provides aviation security soley for the benefit of increased passenger safety and security.

If we do ever see a return to a one hour check in time for overseas flights then it is only likely due to the aviation and transportation security deploying new state of the art security products and services like the new xray security machines at Manchester airport.

Although privacy experts will always bang the drum about big brother intrusion, I can’t think of a single genuine reason why any law abiding aviation passenger can voice concerns about a full and detailed xray security check at any airport.

The British American Security Expert & his aviation security consultants outline new aviation security measures for business owners. Aviation and transportation security can impact on business owners on business travel.

Aviation security international is such an issue; business executives need an awareness of security in aviation, airports security & xray security. Aviation and security & aviation security officer training have all improved.

If you ever want any reassurance of how effective our UK aviation security is, then just observe the abysmal lack of security measures at some of the better known overseas tourist airports.

11 Backlinks Building Tips

What is Backlinks?

Backlinks are links Which pointed to your site from another website.

How long it will take to build quality backlinks?

Remember that growing backlinks naturally is the key.  If you build them too fast, you get penalized so a natural growth of backlinks should take about 5-6 months.  After a 5-6 month campaign a you shouldn’t have to focus that heavily on it- since they should be growing on their own. Your campaign should be a multi-pronged approach that includes at least one PRWeb press release, directory submissions (at least 300 with PR 6 or above- grown slowly over -5-6 months), link bait tools (permanent homepage mashup (web app)/lead capture tool), posts comments on related blogs regularly and an automated ping service that will notify social engines and Google when content is updated for increased crawls.  The combination of those tools over a 5-6 month campaign should result in a healthy backlink number of at least 1000 new quality backlinks.  You want to grow backlinks conservatively but consistently to get the most out of their SEO value.

Here are my 11 favorite strategies to build backlinks and how a real estate or mortgage site could leverage them into quality backlinks and traffic.

1. Directory Submissions:. Directory Submission Marketing is a solid way to begin a Backlink Strategy.  Want places where you can find lists of directories?  OK, OK, here are a webmasters secrets: The Directory Archive and Best Web Directories (this is the only paid service I recommend.  Select the slow manual building method that hits 200 directories).    You really only want “Ultra-trusted directory” listings.  These “Ultra-trusted directories” typically charge for an editorial review, not a listing (meaning they can legitimately be trusted). Some of these sources I recommend are Google’s Webmaster Guidelines, Dmoz, Yahoo! Directory, MSN bCentral and Business.com. There are also a bunch of real estate related directories out there that I highly recommend adding yourself to.  I may compile a list of those soon for ya’ll let me know that you want that list.

2. Parasitic link sources: You can leverage the trust of older authority sites if they allow user-generated content such as Squidoo and Wikipedia. You can add links to Squidoo and Wikipedia.

Wikipedia: Do you have a real estate -related site? Do not try to add your homepage link to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real_estate or en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homes. Instead, add the deep link to your “$0 Down Home Loans Explained” page from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/0_donwn_home_loans. It’ll have a much better chance of still being there tomorrow.
Squidoo: Make your lens useful and link out to other authority sites in your niche – this will help to map your site into the neighborhood. Hey check out Teresa Boardman’s Real Estate Squidoo Lens.

3. News, syndication and PR: Syndication is a wondrous thing. For those of you with blogs, you know the power of RSS feeds, for those of you without one- buy a blog!

Back to syndication: Syndicate an article at EzineArticles, GoArticles, iSnare etc. Good article sites like these actually rank highly and send highly qualified traffic. Another great resource for syndicating your real estate related article is RealEstateVoices.  Same goes for Press Releases- use an online PR firm like PRWeb or PRLeap and track who picks up your news so you can offer them exclusives in the future.

4. Social Bookmarking: Now, Social Bookmarking is a fabulous tool. “Me love you long time!” Our blogs have this super cool tool built-in which really helps drive traffic and create valuable links. Basically, people can tag your article as helpful and submit it to Yahoo!, Del.icio.us, Technorati, Digg etc. If people find the sites you tag to be interesting, emotionally engaging, or timely they may follow the trail back to your site.

5. Local Links: Your business is local, so market locally even online.  You can use services like Local Launch and Reach Local.  You can also join the local Chamber of Commerce, get linked on state and governmental resource sites, libraries and other local business sites. My only concern here is that the quality of the backlink might not be all that great. You do want to look at the Page Rank of the site that is linking to you as Google does care that your back links are trusted, quality sources. That being said, I still think it is a good idea.

6. Post on forums, groups and blogs. Be the expert, answer questions on Yahoo! Answers and Google Groups and provide relevant resource links (including one to your own site). Commenting on blogs with relevant interesting posts is another great way to drive traffic and backlinks back to your site.  Be aware that many blogs have placed “no-follow” tags on comments so you can lose some SEO value but you will pick up traffic that way.

7. Review other sites and products. Review products on Amazon.com. You can draw in direct customer enquiries and secondary links by doing this. It also recommends creating product lists on Amazon.com that review top products and also mention your background (LINK!). So, as a real estate professional, review real estate, lending or investing books.  Another great strategy is to review related sites on Alexa to draw in related traffic streams.

8. Blogs. Oh yeah, baby. We love blogs and what they can do for you. You must too, since you’re reading mine right now! Blogs drive traffic. When you blog about things people care about and you execute it all well, you will drive both back links and traffic. To help drive some initial traffic be sure to comment on other blogs and forums. You can also get involved with Technorati! Their tag pages rank well in Yahoo! and MSN, and even in Google. Even if your blog is fairly new you can have your posts featured on the Technorati tag pages by tagging your posts with relevantly. Also make sure to list your blog in a few of the best blog directories.

9. Web 2.0 your site. This is another one we hold near and dear to our geeky little hearts. Have your developer design a few AJAX, Lightbox, or other web2.0 app that complies with www.w3c.org standards, use social bookmarking, redesign your site with a Web 2.0 look (mirrored effect, glossy menus, frosted glass images, etc.), use CSS properly. Once you do that you can submit your site to places like www.cssbeauty.com, www.cssremix.com, www.cssvault.com and other more technical sites that look for AJAX and cool super-geek technologies. SEOmoz also runs a web 2.0 contest annually you can submit to.  For example, one of my favorite real estate blogs, Sellsius received an honorable mention last year.  So, it makes sense to pay a developer to revamp your site with web 2.0 design or add a web 2.0 application.  The reward in quality backlinks and traffic will far outweigh the cost.

10. Hold contests, enter contests. If you have some decent traffic, hold contests on your site. We’ve run some contests for Realtors and Lenders that have driven some great traffic.  If you have the skill set, enter contests. You can enter web design, web 2.0 and other real estate or web design related contests. The best thing about contests, is that if you win- you can garner some grand titles that you can use to market yourself with on your site in addition to all those useful links. I mean, what Realtor wouldn’t like to be called “the Grand Pooh-ba of Northern Florida Real Estate Blogging?”

11. Blog Carnivals. Get involved with the hottest thing in blogging today, Blog Carnivals.  According to wikipedia, a blog carnival is a blog article that contains links to other articles covering a specific topic. Blog Carnivals are often referred to as another form of viral marketing because it provides participants another way to increase traffic and gain links to their blog. Basically, a blog carnival is a type of aggregator where one “hot” industry blog displays the best of posts across the Internet on a particular topic.  It’s a great tool for introducing a blog to a community and driving substantial traffic to it. Just check out Carnival of Real Estate.

Elottery Emphasizes Flexibility

The concept of E-lottery (Playing the lottery via the internet) has been in existence since the year of 2002 and was produced in reply to a demand for coaction between players active in the national lottery. It was agreed that your odds of winning is enhanced greatly when you play as part of a larger entry: – an e-lottery syndicate.

As the e-lottery syndicate permits many individuals to merge and pool their entries on-line, flexibility has been combined with the strength of numbers. Indeed it’s approximated that one out of every four jackpots is acquired by a syndicate, within the UK. Instead of worrying about searching for fellow members, the beauty of the e-lottery syndicate is that you will automatically be placed into a draw with forty nine other members for each of the biweekly games in the United Kingdom.

The beauty of this affiliation is that you will acquire a total sum of 44 entries, with each line sharing five numbers plus one unique number. It is calculated that anyone’s chances of winning is increased by over 700% by just employing this method. E-lottery (Vwd) and most other individuals have realized that the betting odds of scooping the United Kingdom lottery jackpot is estimated to be 1 in 14 million. This method improves your likelihood of winning significantly to only 1 in 1.9 million.

Organizers of e-lottery (Vwd) suggest that the convenience of participating on-line and the flexibility of the system has lead to a noteworthy uptake amongst all those who sign-up to e-lottery and enter on a regular basis. As we tend to lead busy lives we frequently forget to purchase our lottery tickets, but this system will automatically take care of this for you, and as you do not have to purchase tickets, you do not have the hassle of enduring the horror of a mislaid ticket.

The internet looks set to change the way we live our lives in ways we cannot yet imagine as we streamline our daily duties and go to the internet on a regular basis. The lottery permits you to go online and check out your winnings and you can even set up your web site, and then you can examine performance over a span of time plus maintain your particular membership profile. Then your winnings will be electronically sent to you and then you won’t have to go to your local store to pick them up.

While some individual’s state that traditional gambling and lottery systems are declining. It seems as though the e-lottery receipts are on the increase. Individuals are always searching for a better way to simplify everything they do, particularly if it’s a regular occurrence.

There are numerous other lotto’s internationally, with the UK National Lotto being one of the largest of its kind. Its record payout to date is 42m and the draws are televised live on the BBC, the national broadcaster. Six numbers have to be selected from within the pool of 1 to 49. It’s reckoned that over 200,000 people have joined an e-lottery syndicate and it is a fact that they don’t have to be a resident in the UK to play, as it is reckoned that members hail from more than 130 countries internationally.

How to Use Online Video to Promote your Business

If you’ve been working online I’m sure you might have heard about sites such as You Tube, and Google Video. It’s a well-known fact that the Internet is changing, and so is the way people are starting to promote their business online to new prospects. Now people are using the power of video to showcase their goods.

So how can you become apart of this Internet explosion, and quickly cash in? Well its quite simple actually. You just need a few things to make it all work together as a whole.

1. You need to know the basics of running and working with a computer.

2. You’re going to need a webcam, or a digital camcorder for those who have more experience.

3. You will need to know how to work both your webcam and/or digital camcorder so you can record video to your computer.

If you can do those three basic things then you can use the power of online video. Now if you can even go as a far as being able to actually edit your videos and add effects to them like music, text, and graphics, then you’ll have a great advantage over the rest of the people using online video.

So how else can you use video to help promote your business?

Here are a few ideas.

1. Use video in your emails. This will give people a face to match whatever it is your trying to sell, and most of the time people buy you not whatever it is you sell online.

2. Put videos on your blogs. Instead of writing a blog post. Try putting a video up there and write a small paragraph or two about what your video is based on.

3. Add videos to your website. People want to know whom they are working with in business, and picture can easily be outdated or completely false. Even audio is losing its effect. Adding a video will give your customers a great understanding of whom they will be working with.

4. Put your videos on Myspace. If you have a Myspace page then you should have a video or two up there that people can watch to see what it is you do to work at home.

The more creative you can become with your videos the better. In this world today when people visit a website they want to be able to interact with it, and feel as if they are apart of it. Those who take this new level of technology and run with it will succeed much greater then those who still use old and outdated tactics.

Promotional Products Are Ideal For Company Success

Every company has to start somewhere, and every company wants to succeed. How, exactly, do you get from the starting line to the success part? That’s where every business is different. Of course, one of the most critical elements that EVERY business has to handle is marketing and promotions. People can’t utilize your products or services if they don’t know that you exist. That’s why it is important for you to take advantage of every marketing tool that is available. While print ads and online advertisements are great, there is a much better and more successful way to market any business, no matter what industry it is in: promotional products.

Promotional gifts and products will not only advertise your business, but they will allow people to get useful items for free. If someone is given a barbecue utensil set with your name on it, they won’t need to go out any buy one. If you give people office supplies, clothing, or promotional bags, that’s less stuff that they have to go out and buy. It’s all about making consumers feel appreciated and making sure that your promotional items are ones that will be used and taken advantage of. With the low cost of promotional products, you can actually get better visibility and a great reputation for only a fraction of the cost of traditional advertisements and marketing campaigns.

Why spend thousands of dollars on print ads throughout the course of the year when you can give out promotional calendars, office supplies and accessories, housewares, and even outdoor products that you’ll pay much less for and people will see much more often. If you run an advertisement in the Saturday paper, people have likely forgotten about it by Monday. If you hand out promotional calculators, magnets, or hats to customers and/or potential customers, they will remember your business for as long as they’re using your products.

It just doesn’t make sense to spend more money on less visibility. With promotional products, you are approaching nearly 100% visibility, 24/7. You can never do that with print advertising, which costs much more than you’ll ever spend on promotional products. Plus, since people can take the ‘advertisements’ with them, they’ll be able to go further and you’ll get the word out much better than if you just print an ad or rent a billboard in a specific location.

There is one final reason that promotional products are the perfect choice for company success, and it’s rather simple: people LOVE free stuff. It doesn’t matter what you have or what you’re promoting. People enjoy getting things for free. If you hand out any kind of promotional products to customers, at expos, fairs and festivals, or at any other type of marketing program, you’ll get an overwhelming response because you’ve got cool stuff, and it’s free. While it might sound trivial to you, it will make a big impact on your business. If you’re not certain about how promotional products will work for your business, find the right ones and give them a try. It never hurts to spend a little money before investing a lot in marketing campaigns. You might be surprised at how successful your business becomes with the right promotional gifts and products.

The Nascar Foundation

A good organization supports charity and NASCAR does just that through its NASCAR foundation. The NASCAR foundation has a program where for a $30 donation you can join in on the NASCAR track walk. The Home Depot, one of the nation’s largest retail home improvement centers, is a major sponsor of the promotions and holds charitable events with proceeds going to the Foundation. But who does the Foundation support and what kinds of events do they hold to raise funds?

One thing they do is sponsor auctions where the proceeds go to one of the foundations supported by the NASCAR foundation. For example, on September 17, 2007, they announced bidding on Jeff Gordon full-sized and autographed fiberglass auto body. The proceeds from this auction go to the Jeff Gordon Foundation which supports pediatric medical care of children with serious and life-threatening disease.

The NASCAR foundation holds the Blood and Marrow Drives at different tracks each year. The donations help out the Jimmie Johnson Foundation and the Hendrick Marrow Program. Other charities of the NASCAR Foundation are:

The Dale Earnhardt Foundation

This is a foundation run by the wife of the racing great who died in a race car crash in 2001. Dale Earnhardt was concerned about education, children, and wildlife and his commitment lives on through this foundation.

The Kyle Petty Charity Ride

Kyle Petty is the son of the King of NASCAR Richard Petty and he sponsors a motorcycle ride across the USA for the Victory Junction Gang Camp as well as other children’s charities.

Victory Junction Gang Camp

This is an organization with the mission of helping to enrich the lives of children with serious illnesses by providing them a camping experience in a medically-safe environment. It was founded by Kyle Petty and his wife Pattie in June 2004. The couple also donated the land that the camp stands on today. The camp is interesting because it was built with a racing theme and all the look of a NASCAR race track. The camp takes cash donations and there are volunteer opportunities. It is also gives a quilt and a teddy bear to each child who stays there so they are always looking for donations of these two items to replenish their supply.

NASCAR Auto Donation Program

There are many ways to donate to the NASCAR foundation. One way is through the NASCAR Auto Donation program. Here, you can donate a vehicle and then any of the proceeds that the NASCAR Auto Donation program gets from the proceeds in an auction are given to charity. All donations are fully tax deductible.

The NASCAR Day Telethon

This was a telethon held on May 18, 2007 across from Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Speed Channel, NASCAR, and Sirius radio broadcasted this telethon event through the end of the Craftsman Truck Series Race.

There are many other charitable organizations supported by the NASCAR Foundation but it is obvious that NASCAR cares about contributing to the community which is probably one of the reasons why this sport is becoming increasingly popular.

Lopsided Growth

Lopsided growth
The corporate financial fiasco of Satyam Computers appears to be only a tip of the iceberg that has spread a cover of skepticism and a grave sense of insecurity over the much- bragged-about economic growth India has achieved since the implementation of the government‘s ground-breaking policy on liberalization. Relatable is the episode of the feud between the “Reliance” brothers that rattled the government and financial institutions, including the stock markets, a few years ago.
The most recent incident involving the World Bank’s debarment of Wipro Technologies and Megasoft for having meted out “improper favours” to the bank staff is a dent on the “India Shining” image, which does not rule out the possibility of more skeletons from tumbling out of the nation’s corporate cupboards. While the increasing fears of the investor publics require being pre-empted on the one hand, the discouraged and anxious youth awaiting jobs in the IT sector demand motivation for opportunities elsewhere on the other.
These unfortunate precursors put on view that India’s celebrated economic growth—supposedly unnerved China and put a match to the underbelly of the United States of America—is one of lopsided that has engendered from too much money in too few hands. The information technology, the pied piper of the youth, undoubtedly, was instrumental in bettering the lifestyle of hundreds of thousands in India, it made certain the overnight development of infrastructure in cities, and provided a sophistical comfort to the urban milieu, which eventually widened the dividing line between the haves and the have-nots.
India is the home to nearly seventy percent of a rural population, predominantly dependent on agriculture and spread across more than 638,000 villages. The seemingly rapid growth of the cities attracts even the compulsive rural citizen. Although the uncanny knack of adapting ourselves to new scenarios credits admiration, we tend to reveal a tearing hurry in embracing a change that is particularly an influence of the West.
It was a rather smooth transition for India from the agricultural age to that of the industrial, unlike the hasty shift from the industrial to that of the information age. The resultant neglect of agriculture led to a large-scale exodus of people from the rural to the urban areas. They clung to the hemlines of the cities like infants to their mothers, devoid of any rationale. Today, the cities are bursting at their seams unable to withstand the social and economic pressures. In his book The Tao of Physics, Fritjof Capra deduces that the core challenge of our time is to create and nurture sustainable communities. Any developing nation ought to admit, with humility, that the realisation of a sustained system itself depends on the concerted cooperation among its diverse parts. Here, Charles Darwin’s idea of competition, “survival of the fittest”, fails to gain consequence.

“Sustainable growth” is an oft-repeated rhetoric of every one of the governments that perch itself on the policy-making platform and fails to ensure its implementation. Successive governments cool off in the deluge of the media blare on higher Gross Domestic Product (GDP), lowering of inflation, sops for SEZs, so on and so forth. The government has managed to rein in the inflation rate below six percent; nonetheless, the prices of the essential commodities remain the same, at least in my town.
Some time last year, I happened to watch a news capsule on a regional television channel in which some farmers in Karnataka vouchsafed the benefits of collective farming, in about one hundred acres, without any governmental support realising profit margins of as high as forty percent. “Rurbanisation”—the concept of developing the rural areas by way of providing latest communication and transportation facilities and roads to give them easy access to the urban limits, thereby prevent human exodus and creation of concrete jungles—could be one of the vital answers to the problems. We can almost certainly parry away the despair born out of distress signals such as ecological destruction, social breakdown, and uncontrolled nuclear proliferation if we manage, according to author Joanna Macy in World as Lover, World as Self, to overcome our problem of attempting to filter our negative information and lose our capacity to address problems creatively.
